Portfolio with paper boards and cloth spine. Title at the front board. Index attached to the inside of the front board. The map is mounted on linen. Some wear to the portfolio. Spine faded. Former owners stamp at the top of the cover. Index starting to come loose. The two first leaves somewhat browned. A spot at the map title. Some browning along the map folds. Better than average.
A travel map of Sweden with railway lines, main roads, canals, estates, iron works, mines etc. It also contains an index of all swedish railway stations. Insets of the baltic island of Gotland, the Gothia Canal and the northern sections of the country. Almost all maps of the 1800s paid little attention to the northern undeveloped part of the country. The railway lines are clearly marked in red according to the important role they played in the development of society.
