Grey original wrappers withe title at the front. Wrappers with partly or completely split spines and small tears to the margins. A few stains and some soiling to the wrappers. Text pages browned, with some spots. Some chipping and creasing to some of the margins. 8 pages and 4 plates with some foxing. Most plates are unusally clean . (Most copies of this book are badly foxed).
This album shows humourous scenes from the swedish country life in Sweden. The text was written by Julius Kiellman-Göransson (Norna Gäst) with a lot of satire and situational humour. Dahlström is percieved to be one of the best lithographers of his time, educated by the famous A. J. Salmson. He was very productive and published numerous comical albums on swedish every day life as well as on costumes and historical scenes of the glorious past of the swedish kings and armies. His first album was published in 1843 (Svenska Caracterer) with four classic lithographs with scenes of the streets of Stockholm.
