Christiania. Udgiverens forlag. Tryckt hos H. Tönsberg. (Ca. 1860). 27 x 35 cm.Title + (26 pp) + 10 plates. The text and the plate titles in norwegian, english and french. (The title and the dedication in norwegian only). 9 plates in black and white and 1 plate in color lithography.
Contemporary half calf. Black blind stamped boards. Title in gilt on the front cover. Worn spine and corners. Top and bottom of spine damaged. A few stains to the boards. The back board with smal losses of cloth.The title, dedication leaf and a couple of text leafs with minor foxing. Minor foxing in the margins of a couple of plates. Nice and clean copy.
In ten lithographs a life span of a norwegian couple is shown. The children at the chalet, the courtship, family happiness, the night on the fjord, the solitary old couple etc. The plates were drawn after the original paintings, by Adolf Tidemand, in Oscarshall in Norway. The plates were lithographed by Baerntzen in Copenhagen. Scarce.
