[Map] von Rosenfelt, Werner / Wijkman, A.

Svea Rikes Hufvudstad Stockholm. Medh alla dhes gator, gränder och all annan behagelig situation uti en accurat grundrijtning förfärdigad ao 1701 (..).

Facsimil probably printed in the early 20th century. 52 x 61,5 cm.

Laid down on linen. The linen detached in one corner. Nice condition.

An interesting early facsimil of the first printed map of Stockholm, originally published in 1702. Just about all maps of Stockholm in the first half of the 18th century were based on this map which curiously has east facing the top of the map. The views as well as the poem which surrounds the original map are not present here. It was drawn by Werner von Rosenfelt, a poet, mathematician and admiral. He founded the swedish Nautical Chart Department. Engraved by Anders Wijkman. An uncommon facsimile.
