Printed paper board cover in red and black. The front has an image of the statue of liberty. The back has views of an american train, the capitol in Washington and a couple of scenes from the ship. The inside of the cover and the last page with numerous inscription executed by the owner in 1887. More than half the spine is separeted. Some wear and dirt to the cover. Some of the pages are loose.
A scarce promotional booklet for the danish steam ship company Thingvalla. The company was set up about 1880, catering for Scandinavian emigrants to North America, as an alternative to the main english and german shipping lines. The route was Copenhagen - Christiania (Oslo) - Kristiansand - New York.
