Robert Dudley was the first earl of Leicester and a favourite of Queen Elisabeth I. He was also the father of Robert Dudley (same name) the famous sea chart maker. Engraved in Amsterdam by Jacobus Houbraken one of the greatest engravers of all times. Published in the work "The heads of illustrous people of Great Britain" 1743-1752 by John and Paul Knapton in London.
