George Buchanan was a scottish historian and humanist scholar who took part in the Momarchonist movement who opposed absolute monarchy and justified tyrranicide. Engraved in Amsterdam by Jacobus Houbraken one of the greatest engravers of all times. Published in the work "The heads of illustrous people of Great Britain" 1743-1752 by John and Paul Knapton in London.
