A plate from a famous caricature album depicting life in the streets and parlours of Stockholm in the 1820s. A very lively and humorous collection of images. Mörner succeeds to capture the mode of the time, and his prints have great historical value. "As lithographs they are much above the average of the time" (The Swedish Artist Encyclopedia). Mörner was a count and an officer. He spent twelve years in Italy as a painter and sketch artist, where he created the famous "Carnevale di Roma (20 etchings). He published Stockholmska Scener when he came back to Sweden. The plates were printed at the leading lithographic print shop in the country at the time, Gjöthström & Magnusson in Stockholm.
