Design´d & engraved by G. Vertue. From a picture in the possesion of the Rt. Hon.ble the Earl of Oxford. Ca. 1750. Plate mark 30 x 19,5 cm. The whole sheet 38 x 23 cm. Engraving.
A couple of creases. A paper strip is glued to the right margin. Nice condition.
A portrait of Queen Mary I (1516-1558). She was called Bloody Mary because of her persecution and killing of english protestants. Engraved by George Virtue after an original by Antonio More, who was a dutch portrait painter, much in demand by the nobility of Europe.
