A portrait of Robert Rich the earl of Warwick (1587-1658) who was an admiral, puritan and deeply involved in the colonisation of North America. The original was painted by van Dyck. The print was executed in Amsterdam by Jacobus Houbraken one of the greatest engravers of all times. Published for the work "The heads of illustrous people of Great Britain" 1743-1752 by John and Paul Knapton in London.
