A portrait of James Graham Marquees of Montrose, who was a scottisch nobleman and soldier who supported king Charles I in the english civil war. The original was painted by van Dyck. The print was executed in Amsterdam by Jacobus Houbraken one of the greatest engravers of all times. Published for the work "The heads of illustrous people of Great Britain" 1743-1752 by John and Paul Knapton in London.
