A fine drawing depicting a landscape with ruins, streams, hills, peasants and more. The motif is unknow, but looks like a fantasy landscape in Italy. Elias Fredrik Martin was borned in 1804. He was the grandson of the internationally renowned swedish painter and engraver Elias Martin. The present work was probably executed when the artist was a youngster. Elias Fredrik Martin lived most of his life in the provincial town of Nyköping just south of Stockholm. He is best known for his wonderful views in lithography of small towns in southern Sweden such as Nyköping, Västervik, Kalmar, Uppsala and others. Marked with a small round blue stamp at the verso "Christian Hammer Stockholm". Hammer was a great 19th. century collector of books, prints and all sorts of artefacts.
