A souvenir picture of the Stockholm industrial exhibition of 1866, the first major event of this kind in Sweden. The image depicts the exhibition hall which was constructed right on the waterfront in "Kungsträdgården" in central Stockholm. It was a temporary building that was demolished when the exhibition was over. It is scarce to find any material from the 1866 exhibition and in particular an image of silk. It was made by the silk manufacturer Casparsson & Schmidt. The firm received a price for its production at the exposition.
