Here we have the beautiful title leaf to the finnish section of the great atlas "Geografiske Kartor öfver Swerige" published 1795-1818 by Samuel Gustav Hermelin. It was the first comprehensive mapping of Sweden and Finland. The finnish section of the atlas was produced in the 1790s just before Sweden lost Finland to Russia in 1814. The leaf has a fine view, with the caption "Utsigt ifrån Wermasuuri åt sjöarne Jokijärvi and Ilmolanselkä uti Hauko Sockn i Nyland och Tavastehus Höfdingdöme".
