One plate with a tear in the margin. A few minor spots. A couple of plates browned. Nice condition.
Gavarni, Vernier and other french caricaturists of the era were masters of the lithographic art. Here we have some very nice examples. Three plates by Gavarni from the series Politique de Femme (2), and Les Debardeurs. Two plates by Vernier from the serie Physionomies des Bals and Les Grisettes. Then we have 16 plates with, to me, unknown artists. One plate from the serie Fantasies, three plates from the serie Code Civil Illustré, two plates from the serie Impressions de Voyage, two plates from the serie Paris L´été, Macedoine, Comme on Dine a Paris, Les Peintres, Fairboles, Quartier de la Boule Rouge, Revue Comique and Les Petits Bonheurs de Lèquitation. All the plates are published by Bauger or Aubert in Paris.
