Some stains, small tears and creases to the margins. A discreet indentation in the form of a double line in the image area of "Le lièvre et les grenouilles".

Here we have two illustrations to the french 17th century classic "Fables de la Fontaine", a work containing 239 fables. The work was dedicated to the son of Louis XIV. Several editions and adaptations followed over the centuries. The present images were executed about 1819.
