1858. 4 maps covering France. Each sheet 58 x 71,5 cm. Altogether 115 x 143 cm (including margins). Engravings/etchings. Hand coloured in outline. Each map folds once.
Some splits along the folds. Creasing, short tears and a little smudging in the margins. A couple of small losses in the margins. An ink stain in the cartousche.
A large scale map of France including Belgium parts of Holland, Germany, England, Spain, Italy and Switzerland as well as insets of Paris and France divided into departments and language areas. It was issued for the "Allgemeiner Hand-Atlas" published by the "Weimar Geograpisches Institute". This atlas was one of the finest large folio atlases of the 19th century, issued in several editions and revisions between 1797 and 1882. Roads and train lines as well as towns and heights are clearly marked.
