Black half calf with brown board papers. Text in gilt at the front board "Premium d. 15 Juni 1870". Yellow end papers. Name inscriptions on the fly leaves. Worn binding. Spine ends damaged. Interior in very nice condition.
A swedish historical atlas covering "Medeltiden och Nyare Tiden" (the middle ages and the modern era ). The atlas has its very own characteristic compared to most contemporary equivalents - with several insets and different lay outs and a lovely toned down pastel colouring. At least five editions were published. Mentzer was the architecht behind a number of swedish atlases and maps in the second half of the 19th. century.
