A stereoscope card detailing Molins fontän (still in plaster, it was later ironcasted) at the 1866 Industrial Fair in Stockholm. A label on the back reads: Joh.s Jaeger Kongl. Hof-fotograf, Regeringsgatan No. 11. Hörnet af Herkulesgatan Stockholm. Stereoscopic cards are used in a viewer which creates a three dimensional image based on two slightly different photographs mounted side by side on the card. These cards were very popular during the second half of the 19th. century and well into the 20th. century. The earliest photographic stereo cards were made by daguerreotypes in the 1840s.
