Black passe partout. Large margins. The lithograph is crudely fixed in its place by a short piece of tape in the upper margin concealed under the passe partout. Slightly browned. A dent in the right margin. The image in nice condition.
A wonderful lithograph showing Djurgården, with the city of Stockholm in the distance. Djurgården is a large park area near the centre of town famous for its amusements, cafees, resaturants and beauty. These former royal hunting grounds has been the most popular picknik spot in Stockholm for centuries. Carl Johan Billmark Sweden´s most famous lithographic artist made the drawing as a part of the work "Stockholms Pittoreska Omgifningar" (The Picturesque Environs of Stockholm) containing 29 lithographs in all. It was lithographed by Lemercier in Paris. Scarce.
