This album shows humourous scenes from the swedish capital. Dahlström is percieved to be one of the best lithographers of his time, educated by the famous A. J. Salmson. He was very productive and published numerous comical albums on swedish every day life, as well as on costumes and on historical scenes such as the glorious past of the swedish kings and the nations armies. His first album was published in 1843 (Svenska Caracterer) with four classic lithographs showing scenes from the streets of Stockholm. This book contains tventyfour lithographs from the city life in Stockholm in the 1850s. The text was written by Julius Kiellman-Göransson (Norna Gäst) with a lot of satire and situational humour.
