History of Bedford, Somerset and Fulton Counties, Pennsylvania. With illustrations and biographical sketches of some of its pioneers and prominent men.

First edition. Chicago. Waterman & Watkins. 1884. 29,5 x 22,5 cm. x pp. (including title) + pp.15-672 + 112 plates (117 plates in the index but some of them are on the same plate).

Original publishers half calf. Blind stamped. Gilt title on the front board and at the spine. Rebacked. Most of the original spine preserved and laid down. Worn boards. Many (eraseable) underlinings made with crayon in the begining and the end of the book. A couple of brown spots in the margins. A few pages are bound in the wrong order, starting at p. 644, but none is missing. Page 651 with paper loss in the margin.

A history of three counties in Pennsylvania with numerous illustrations of famous persons, farms, towns and views. No first edition in Library of Congress, only a reprint. Rare.
