Large margins. Slight foxing to the margins. A couple of minor spots to the image area. Nice condition.
The plate shows the rapids at Elfkarleby in the northern part of the district of Uppland. Caption in french and swedish. The original was drawn by Thersner in 1823. The plate was published in 1827 and then reissued in about 1850, on different paper. This is such a reissue. The plate was published for the monumental topographical work "Fordna och närvarande Sverige" (Ancient and Present Sweden) wnich was published 1817-1867 in 12 free standing parts containing 367 plates. Besides "Suecia Antiqua et Hodierna" of 1715, it is the most ambitious topographical work ever published in Sweden.
