Dramatic norwegian landscapes with water falls cascading into fiords, wild thundering rivers as well as country life and a church meeting at a stave church with dragon heads. The world of myths and sagas. The plates were published for the work "Svenska och Norrska Utsigter" (Views of Sweden and Norway). Anckarswärd display an ability to create lively compositions. His pictures have a lovely balance and presence.
