The plate slightly browned in the upper margin. Nice condition.
The present image was published in 1921 in number 10 of the "Gazette du Bon Ton" (Magazine for Good Taste and Refinement), an exclusive french fashion magazine directed at the higher echelons of society. It published some of the finest fashion prints of the time. The magazine cooperated with the fine fashion houses of Paris reproducing their latest creations. The pochoir technique gives the images a very crisp and fresh appearance. It is a refined way of making fine stencil prints, preferebly published by french couture magazines in the early 19th. century. The highly specialized craftsmanship was very time consuming which made the images expensive. Many great writers and art deco artists participated in the Gazette du Bon Ton. The magazine was puiblished 1912-1925.
