Kellgren, a litterary and intellectual icon. Johan Cardon, who lithographed the present portrait, was educated in Paris in the early 1830s. His education coincided with the great period of french lithography. Back in Sweden he set up a printing shop in Stockolm in partnership with A. F. Spong (Spong & Cardon). Cardon was the most skilled of all portrait lithographers in Sweden. In 1843 he received the title "Royal lihographer".
