The lithograph has the owners stamp of the great swedish book collector Christian Hammer. Nice condition.

Tommaso Aniello or Massaniello (1620- 1647) was the leader of a revolt in Naples in 1647 against Spain´s despotic rule of the city. He soon himself is said to have become despotic and was murdered on the 16th of July 1647. The lithograph was excecuted after an original by the Neapolitan artist Francesco Solimena.
