Large margins. A few minor creases. Near fine.

The plate depicts a medal coined in memory of princess Livia Doria Carafa de Rocella who died young in 1779. The town of Rocella sits on the south coast of Calabria on the toe of Italy. One side of the medal depicts a profile of the princess and the other a seated charity dropping coins to poor children. Religion is standing by her side pointing to the stars and a bird. The engraving depicts the back and front of the medal inserted into the base of an egyptian obelisc. A winged woman looks at the medal and some books are spread on the ground. Engraved and etched by Raffaello Morghen (1758-1833) after an original by Fidelius Fischietti (1732- ca1792).
