Litografierad och tryckt hos Schlachter & Seedorff. Stockholm. Uppfodrad hos P. Herzog Malmskillnadsgatan 48 C Stockholm. 1868. 2 folding maps, each measuring 94 x 115 cm. The work was published in 8 sheets, they are here assembled four and four into two map sheets. Complete. Colour printed lithographs. Laid down on linen with edges in blue cloth. Comes in an original blue cloth portfolio with ties and gilt title at the front board.
The spine of the portfolio partly split and with losses of cloth in the spine ends. The map has some browning here and there, but overall in very nice condition.
A very large format map covering the country up to Härjedalen and Medelpad, including Sundsvall. It was published just tvelve years into the swedish railway era. There are no train lines north of Uppsala except three isolated tracks from Gävle, Söderhamn and Hudiksvall. The line to Kristiania in Norway is under construction, but most of the track through Värmland is not yet finished. Highlands and lowlands are clearly marked as well as counties, provinces and hundreds. The map has explanations to the map signs in the lower margins. A scarce large scale map.
