A beautiful early railway map of central Europe. It also works as a postal and travel map. It covers the area from Rome to southern Sweden and from eastern England to Russia. At this point in history Sweden had no railways yet, the first was opened in 1856. The main european countries had already extensive railway networks. There are 12 insets of road and railway sections between important cities. Two concerns Scandinavia, Christiania to Helsingborg and Stockholm to Helsingborg. Others show sections in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Russia, the Baltics and the Balcans including Istanbul.
